Oleic acid (9-octadecenoic acid) - unsaturated fatty acid is an oily liquid. Not soluble in water; insoluble in ethanol, ether, benzene, chloroform. Oleic acid - the most common in nature unsaturated acids. Contained in many vegetable and animal fats as esters - glycerides included in the composition of animal fats and vegetable oils. In a significant number found in olive, peanut, rapeseed, sunflower oil and hazelnut oil.
