Silver nitrate looks like a transparent, colorless crystals or white cylindrical cylinders (pencils) and odorless. Silver nitrate is dissolved easily in water, the light darkens. Therefore, store it in a dry, dark place in a well-sealed jars with opaque walls.
Silver nitrate at low concentrations exhibits anti-inflammatory, astringent and antimicrobial properties, and in high concentrations has a hemostatic and cauterizing effect.
Outwardly silver nitrate appoint 0.05-0.5% aqueous solution with the appearance of inflammatory processes in the mucous membranes of the mouth and genital ulcers, weeping eczema and burns on the skin - 4-5% -s' for cauterization of warts and ulcers -3-10% solution or pencil; to stop bleeding from small vessels used only pencil.
Inside used in the form of dilute solutions, pills and boluses as an astringent and antiseptic agent for diarrhea and ulcer processes in the stomach, and intestine.
